South Korean coloratura soprano Yeeun Yeo completed her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Voice at Hanyang University in Seoul and later graduated from the Master Oper program at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden under the guidance of Prof. Christiane Hossfeld.
During her undergraduate studies, she already appeared on stage as Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata and Gilda in Rigoletto.
After moving to Germany, she quickly established herself as a promising young artist. She was a finalist at the Éva Marton International Singing Competition, where she also received the Audience Prize. At the Internationaler Wettbewerb GRANDI VOCI in Salzburg, she was awarded the Mozart Prize for her interpretation of the Queen of the Night’s aria from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.Since the 2025/26 season, Yeeun Yeo has been a member of Opernstudio NRW. Within the program, she performs Blonde in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail, the soprano soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at Theater Dortmund. At Musiktheater im Revier, she appears as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. At Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, she performs Paquette in Bernstein’s Candide and a Flower Maiden in Wagner’s Parsifal. In addition, she appears as Berta in the children’s version of Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Wuppertaler Bühnen.
She continues her work with Opernstudio NRW in the 2026/27 season, appearing at all four participating opera houses in North Rhine-Westphalia.
